Taekwondo has given me many friends around the world and I owe much to my sport. Many people say that there's no money in Taekwondo & and that you can never make a living out of it etc. That is true to a certain extent but the sport can give a person so much more than the materialistic. For instance, if it weren't for Taekwondo I wouldn't be in my current work situation.
I started training ITF Taekwondo 1989 in Lomma in Sweden under Ted Strand and competed for the first time that year. I switched schools to Malmö Taekwondo school and trained under Master Yeo Chin Huat. In 1992 I switched to WTF Taekwondo as the competition scene was more attractive in that style. My choice of schools was Malmö KFUM Po-Eun Taekwondo which is my current school. I was a member of the Swedish National Taekwondo Team the following years: 1993, 1995-1999 and 2003.
After winning my 6th and last Swedish National Taekwondo Championships in March 2004 I have now ended my Taekwondo career as one of the most successful Swedish Taekwondo athletes of all times, an achievement I'm very proud of.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my instructors (LIST) who have helped me reach the level I have during my years as an athlete. I would like to give special thanks to Patrick Karlsson who has been there for me always, morning training sessions at 6AM or late evening sessions. I would never have become the Taekwondo athlete I am today without your support. Thank you!!
